The goal of today (and the other days we'll be in the computer lab) is to have personal time to review the grammar rules YOU need to review.
Why is YOU in all caps, you may ask?
Because instead of going over all of the rules of grammar as a class, you will take advantage of the individualized feedback you received on your Mastery Manager report and just study the rules YOU need to study.
Look back at your report and look for patterns - did you miss a lot of questions dealing with commas? Semicolons? Sentence Structure?
Once you have identified these you'll go to the Bedford St. Martin's website - the link is on the main blog under "class resources." You don't need to log in - just click "cancel."
Click on the "grammar exercises" tab on the left, then scroll down to the "basic grammar" title. Once you click on this, it will open up a list of specific quizzes based on different elements of grammar.
Spend the period taking the quizzes and noting the explanations of the rules. You do not need to report or record your scores - this is entirely for you. Take as many quizzes as you can in the class period.
At the end of the period, please send me a short e-mail naming which quizzes you took today, and what areas you still want to work on as we move forward.
Enjoy!
